Front-end Testing

Are you experienced in front-end development, but not so much in front-end testing? This course introduces you to setting up front-end tests in a practical fashion.

Upon completing this course, you will know the added value of a testing set-up and be able to write unit tests with increased confidence. You will also get the opportunity to create your own testing setup for (one of) your current project(s).

Topics

• The why, what and how of (unit) testing
• Getting to know the testing framework. Choice between:
  • Angular + TypeScript + Karma
  • Vue + JavaScript + Jest
• Hands-on: implementation of a new feature for which you will write tests

Target Audience

This training is aimed at those who already have experience with programming in a UI framework. It will therefore not review front-end basics. Specifically, students are expected to have previous experience in JavaScript / TypeScript, mainstream UI frameworks (Angular, AngularJS, Vue, React, ...) and modules.
