1. Architecture Track
with Gregor Hohpe
IT is no longer merely a supporting function — it increasingly serves as a growth engine. However, many IT leaders are now further removed from their technical teams than ever before. In this workshop, you will rediscover how architecture can serve as the metaphorical elevator connecting the ‘boardroom’ and the ‘engine room’.
You will learn how to better understand technical choices and clearly explain them to the board. No buzzwords or vague promises, but clear frameworks and practical insights that will help you ask the right questions and better align technology, budget, and strategy. This way, you can harness the full power of your IT organisation.
Target audience:
CIO, CTO, CDO, IT Leader, Chief Architect, Enterprise Architect
2. Platform Engineering Track
with Burr Sutter
In many organisations, it still takes too long for new software to deliver effective value. Root causes include fragmented processes, manual handovers, and high operational burdens on developers. Platform engineering offers a structural solution by supporting development teams with automated, secure, and user-friendly development platforms.
In this session, Burr Sutter will show you how to approach your internal platforms as full-fledged products, with a focus on user experience, standardisation, and continuous improvement. Topics include self-service portals, golden path templates, CI/CD automation, and the necessary cultural shift between development, security, and operations.
Target audience:
IT leaders, CTOs, heads of engineering, platform architects, enterprise architects, and technology strategists
For who?
An exclusive opportunity for CIOs, CTOs, IT leaders and enterprise architects to sharpen their focus on the future of IT.

Introducing your hosts

Gregor Hohpe
Gregor is an architect bridging IT and business, translating buzzwords into practical decisions. He built cloud services at AWS, guided cloud transformations at Google Cloud, shaped Singapore’s government cloud strategy, and served as Chief Architect at Allianz SE.
He co-authored Enterprise Integration Patterns, wrote The Software Architect Elevator, and serves on the IEEE Software advisory board. Gregor emphasises clear communication over simplification, effectively wielding both IDE and presentation software.

Burr Sutter
A lifelong developer advocate, community organiser and technology evangelist, Burr Sutter is a featured speaker at technology events around the globe—from Bangalore to Brussels and Berlin to Beijing (and most parts in between).
He is currently Red Hat’s Chief Developer Evangelist. A Java Champion since 2005 and former president of the Atlanta Java User Group, Burr founded the DevNexus conference—now the second largest Java event in the U.S.—with the aim of making access to the world’s leading developers affordable to the developer community.
